"Focused Learning" Terms & Conditions

Disclaimer

By purchasing blocks and attending classes with Work Smart, Be Smart tutoring, you understand that we are currently a for-profit company, that is registered as an LLC. We do not replace traditional schooling. Our services are supplemental in nature. We cannot replace state testing or learning standards. Our curriculum is aimed to meet the Florida state learning standards. We are based in Groveland, FL.

Definitions

If the terms "We, Us, Our, or WSBS Tutoring" is used in this agreement, it refers to Work Smart, Be Smart Tutoring LLC. If the terms "You, your, parent, or guardan" is used in this agreement, it refers to the person who has legal guardianship of a minor student and the person responsible for paying for classes. If the term "student" is used in this agreement, it refers to an underage minor between the ages of 3 - 17 years old.

The Teachers

All teachers have at least 1 year teaching experience and a Bachelor's degree, or will be graduating within 12 months with a BA degree or higher. All teachers will ONLY be able to be hired as a teacher after submitting their academic profile information.

The Student(s)

All students will be placed in the grade level that a parent or gaurdian signs them up for. As Focused Learning is not traditional school, WSBS Tutoring will not be responsible for students placed in incorrect grade levels. We will not be placement testing students.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold WSBS Tutoring, its officers, directors, employees and agents, harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your violation of this Agreement, your provision of the Services, and any claim made by a third party as a result of your provision of the Services, including any claim alleging your infringement upon the copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, patents or other intellectual property rights of such third party.

Student Behavior

Students are expected to behavior properly, and not be a source of disruption in class, during the 4 hour block, minus the 15 minutes of free time/break time. Students are expected to be kind, courteous, and respecful towards their classmates and their teacher. If they are confused or have a question, they are required to ask for assistance. We cannot assume that everyone is struggling. It will be up to the students to be proactive in reaching out for help. Students will receive a warning for their first offense, followed by a "virtual written" warning before finally being kicked from our program on the third offense, forfeiting the remainder purchased blocks as a penalty.

Termination and suspension

The service reserves the right to suspend and /or terminate any parent and/or student with or without notice at any time in its sole discretion, for any reason. You agree that, if you are suspended and/or terminated, you will make no further use of our services after termination or during suspension. Violation of terms and conditions will instantly result into termination of the student(s); forfeiting all blocks as a penalty.
The termination; as stated above, may include, but not limited to the following reasons:

  • Violation of this agreement
  • Violation of conduct terms; abuse, threat or harassment
  • Committing any dishonest activity; cheating, etc.
  • Cyber Bullying another student or teacher/staff member

Legal obligations

The we may provide any sort of personal, teaching or transaction related information; stated above, ONLY in case of any legal requirement. The information may ONLY be shared with the authorities in case of the legal order from the competent authority. The subject matter solely depends upon the nature of individual case.

Changes in the terms and conditions

We reserve the right to change the terms and conditions at any time without any notice. However parent's feedback and suggestions are always welcomed. Please write to hello@wsbstutoring.com. What you will be getting

Work Smart, Be Smart Tutoring, will be offering the following solution:

Focused Learning:
  • Focused Learning is not tutoring or homeschooling, but rather a supplemental program to help aid students in specified subject matters.
  • Focused Learning is an approach that will aid your children in the subject areas that they are struggling with the most.
  • Focused Learning is shorter than traditional school, and offers personalized learning with small class sizes and smaller student to teacher ratios.

Benefits of Focused Learning:

  • No spreading of the COVID-19 Corona Virus.
  • You can practice Social Distancing.
  • Extremely affordable compared to private tutoring or virtual tutoring.
  • Accredited Teachers.
  • Small class sizes.
  • Small Teacher to Student Ratios.

What we are offering:

  • Pilot Classes. Our Focused Learning classes will only be offering 2 grade levels per day.
  • We are only offering grades 2nd - 10th for now, until we finish pilot classes.
  • Extremely affordable compared to private tutoring or virtual tutoring.
  • Maximum class size of 6 students.
  • One block with two subjects (Math & Science) being taught for 2 hours each.
  • We will be offering English & History later, in the future.

How will the "Blocks" be broken down?

Two Subject Sections, 1 Math & 1 Science:
  • 1 Hour of Instruction of the Subject
  • 15 minutes will be spent on an instructional handout/activity/quiz to evaluate comprehension of the lesson.
  • 15 minutes will be given as a break for the students while the teacher grades the handout/activity/quiz.
  • 30 minutes will be spent reviewing which questions students struggled on.

How much will this cost?

  • $20/Block. ($5/Hour)
  • Less than $5/Hour when you purchase 4 Blocks or 20 Blocks at a time.

Refunds

  • If you purchase 1 Block and USE it, you will not get a refund.
  • If you purchase 2+ Blocks or a 4 Block Package, you may get a refund up to 5 business days from date of purchase. For example, if you purchase on a Friday, you'd have until the following Friday to cancel. Weekends do not count.
  • If you purchase a 20 Block Package, you maye get a refund up to 14 business days from date of purchase.
  • Please be mindful of the amount of blocks purchased in relation to the amount of work needed.

Attendance

  • If your child attends 30 minutes or more of a block, then a full block will be charged and no refund will be given for that block.
  • There will be no makeuptime due to a student being tardy.
  • Please give us at least 6 hours notice if your student will not be able to attend a lesson, so that we may resechedule them, or you will lose that block & still be charged, unless there is a doctor's note or other emergency.
